Redlands Bowl

Redlands Bowl

The Redlands Bowl Summer Music Festival story began in 1923 with the founding of the Redlands Community Music Association (RCMA) by a woman with a vision – Grace Stewart Mullen. Mrs. Mullen’s vision was that “music is for everyone,” and should be accessible to all regardless of their ability to pay for admission. Her dream of bringing professional quality, classically oriented, music-based performing arts to her community has prospered for over 88 years.

The Redlands Bowl Summer Music Festival holds the distinction of being the oldest continuous music festival in the United States at which no admission is charged. Since its inception in 1923, an estimated eight million people have attended an evening of entertainment under the stars at the Redlands Bowl.

New Year Eve's Beach Ball Drop

Postponed until 2022.
For those too excited to wait until midnight, the Redlands Visitor Center rings in the new year at 4 p.m., which is the stroke of midnight in London. Ten…Nine…Eight…,when the crowd finishes their countdown at 4pm the Beach Ball Drop begins. Inflated beach balls descend from above, floating down on the families like warm snowflakes with a goal for the participants to keep them bouncing overhead for as long as possible. Visitors may also write on the Wishing Wall: Whether it is a personal goal, a dream for the future or doing something for the very first time.
Every Thursday from 6 pm to 9 pm.

Music

Music on the Balcony

From its beginnings in January of 2020, the coronavirus outbreak has driven millions of people to shelter at home for long days. In country after country, people have responded by taking to their balconies, windows, and rooftops to sing to one another, to applaud and show gratitude to their health-care workers, to play music, and to lift one another’s spirits. The singing has continued into 2021 as we face many challenges of our troubled world and the continued issues from the pandemic.

In an effort to lift everyone’s spirits, the Redlands Visitor Center will offer MUSIC ON THE BALCONY each Spring and Fall. All musicians are seasoned Redlands professionals, including, University of Redlands and CSUSB music students.
Every Saturday from 10 am to 12 pm & 4 pm to 6 pm.
